This project, which is located next to Ft. Lauderdale Hollywood Airport, consists of a four-bay, 16,700 square foot station which features a medical exam and treatment room, commercial kitchen, outdoor barbecue area, command center, and multipurpose community room. Also included is a six-story training tower with a 50-foot apron for staging, and windows and balconies typical of the South Florida region for repelling and ladder exercises. The training area also includes facilities for confinement exercises and elevator shaft rescues. Scope of services included the mechanical design and construction phase services for the HVAC systems. This included apparatus rooms (ventilation), and fire fighters’ residential area with kitchen, storage, special training, and decontamination areas.
